For the most part Dar es Salaam is not considered critical in the quest for adventure but city walks can be fulfilling, a bustling ocean frontier offers numerous beaches with plush hotels, riding the ferries to Kigamboni estuary a favourite past mostly time for locals. The national museum houses some of the pre and post colonial history relics. A Northbound forty five minutes drive puts you right in Bagamoyo, boasting of some vestiges of colonial and slave historical settings, the 16^th century mosque lies in ruins, German headquarters, slave market, Salt excavation. One can take time off to visit Saadani National park where the bush brushes with the water, where sun-tanned skin enthusiasts might be interrupted by an Elephant strolling or a lion coming to drink.
