| MOUNT KILIMANJARO NATIONAL PARK |
|
Here is the roof of Africa at 5895m, a beautiful free standing icon rising majestically, dwarfing anything on this continent. The hike is a brief but fulfilled journey from the equator to the north or south poles in terms of climate. One of the most accessible mountains tops and conquering it is not alien a feat for most climbers. So next time you dare it, you will have your name definitely scribbled in the good books of its successful conquerors. The slope is not devoid of wild life as hikers will encounter the endangered Abbot’s duiker, buffalos, elephants, leopards, antelopes and primates among others. What to do: Six trekking routes to summit, day or night hikes on shira plateau, Trout fishing and Visit Chala Crater Lake on southeastern slope. When to go: Dec-Feb and July-Sept. |
